Does anyone know what a “kauda†shell is called in English? And what is the significance of such shell, or what is it used for? Is there any historical significance to it? I am doing a small research and I need some help, at least to find out what it is called.

I have seen such shell in Nepal and have witnesses people using it to gamble. I am doing a small research, or just gathering information relating to such shell. And to do that, I would first need to know what it is called. So I am seeking your help here.

. on a more serious note, try looking under 'conch shells'. i know your typical idea of a conch shell is them massive things that you can use as a 'musical' instrument, but i do believe that the shape of the कौडा is conch
