 Banepa tense after bus killed pedestrian,Degraj Bhattarai

A man was killed and another was injured after a bus hit them when they were on a morning walk Saturday morning in Banepa.

The deceased has been identified as Degraj Bhattarai, an employee at District Education Office Kavrepalanchok and permanent resident of Jhapa. One Navaraj Timilsena who was critically injured in the incident has been rushed to Kathmandu for treatment.

A bus (Ba 2 Kha 5892) en route to Dhulikhel from Budwal, Banepa-11 had hit them during morning walk.

Meanwhile, locals of Banepa have torched the bus and also obstructed Araniko highway demanding compensation to the victim's family and action against the bus driver.

Police had fired six rounds of tear gas shell to contain the situation after the locals obstructed police to douse the fire on the bus.
