I wake up; and in a sleepy haze, look out to the window,
I see the vast expanse of the snow, the white blanket,
Stretching as far as my eyes go,
Beyond the valley and beyond.

My mind drifts to the thousand shards of truth about myself,
I see the tears rolling down my fate,
And drenching my soul with inundation of melancholy,
I see my feet staggering at the door, unspoken rues,
I feel tired with the visions, blurry shades,
The plentitude of wasted emotions,
The myriad hues of my short-lived life,
I recount my past to my present,
And I consider the future,
Holding in my hands; it is cold,
Cold as it was ever.

I see the snowfall; I see the flurry radiance plenty about,
I see the withering twigs snapping off the trees,
I see the lonely doves whistle about the nests,
The pleasant sun comes in warming the souls,
The first bud of the spring; wrath is yet commonplace,
The fury of the snows; the flurry of the robust chill,
The cirrus and the nimbus and the stratus and the cumulus,
Run amuck the vast sky; gods on wheels riding the fare.

I look up to the sky; I see the stagnant waves,
I look down the earth; I see the river of tears,
I look around me; I see the snowfall.

Amidst the glades and the barren fields,
I see my life flow away with the current of the seasons,
I see my breath go away with the plethora of the reasons,

Snowfall and the spring;
Still the placid reasons of entirety,
Hold my breath in the tresses of the dark mane,

I am lost; alas! I am lost,
I dive into the whirlpool; I find myself alone,
I fall into the crevasse; I find myself alone,
I come out to the nature,
Snow is on the pines and the branches,
Snow is on the yards and the roofs,

I see around me; I am alone,
EVENTHOUGH.!.!.!.!.....

Loote! I love snowfall, as much you do. I love the velvety blanket that vastly covers the ground otherwise so barren given the wintry atrocity. And I find it quite ironic, despite the appeal of snowfall, it is associated with bleakness and sadness. You must have watched Fargo, A Simple Plan, and Snow falling On Cedars. The whiteness of the snowfall and the vista you witness is second to none, and still only pain and remorse surface in those jubilant snowy times. Have you ever felt so?

I guess it doesnot snow where you live, or it has yet to come. I hope your wishes are fulfilled very soon. Just a pointer, register your psyche at the times of snowfall and after the snowfall. A bright sunny day and a bleak cloudy day. Maybe you have, maybe you haven't. Just a thought we tend to shrug off. And yes, Chicago is awfully cold and as visually depressing, given the wintry atrocity. It has snowed a lot this year.
