I have been hearing a lot about 15 nepalese getting deported from North lake college irving , tx....is that a fact or just a rumour....and ia hve also heard that they all worked in gas stations.....how true is that ...pls help if you guys know anything....
but i know one thing for sure....
a neapli student (f-1) was deprted a weeek agao after he was caught working...
and a store was raided by ICE in Mckinney texas....

i nepali i talked about was deported a week ago from new york..and he was my friend's cousin.........and also there was a raid in my freind's gas sation thougfh he was not there when that happened......

i am not panicking.....i just want to know if above mentioned incidents are just a few isolated cases or there are lot more tragedies that have gone untold....

It's because of this illegal immigration issue that has stalled in the house. INS is just trying to intimidate illegals by raiding and deporting. They had started raiding from Arizon as they showed in TV. However, INS lacks manpower and resources to deport all illegals. I don't know about the western states but I haven't heard anyone being deported from Massachusetts for working in gas station.

i dont think you understand the immigration debate in this country. I will recommend you to go to Hist 1301/101 so that you will understand what immigration means to this country and how these "mexicans" have helped this country make livable for foreigners like us........

by the way i am not illegal alien . i just have a great deal of sympathy for them.

and also you have said that " you are just legal student tyring to earn your tuition fees".......i bet you are an F-1 and working by f-1 is also completely illegal....what makes you think that you are totally legal...talking about legality, i bet you didnot have as much income as you showed when applying for visa .....thats illegal too..."using fradualant documents".....alll of these things make you an illegal too or if you will, partially legal........

Yesterday 67 nepali were deported from dallas fortworth airport for violating their F1 status. they were from different part of US. 23 were from Dallas, 3 from Fortworth and rest from washinton, newyork, boston and chicago. 1 was caught in LA. they all are deported right at the moment.

these rumors have floating around. I've also heard through couple sources but I don't know anybody who was deported. I know of one incident many months ago a student was caught working in a gas station and he had to go to various troubles, they also cuffed him with a detector in his ankle to trace his whereabouts and he would have to check in and out of his apt. Later I heard he was ok. This was before the recent turn of events in immigration laws but now, I think they are quite serious about it and trying to create and impression. What are the laws? The new laws haven't been implemented so I'm thinking they cannot be deported right away, there should be a hearing for them. Be careful gys and gals.

youngzg my point is that i don't hate these illegal aliens. but look at the number of illegals and it's rising.

Students especially from nepal. i feel sad that these 67 nepalis are deported.

Sorry to interrupt you guys, but can anybody shed on some light regarding the raid ? Why do they raid and send the student who is only working part time ? Don't you have system whereby students are allowed to work certain hour per weeks ?

I_nepali dude. listen here. unless you get some work in college then you would be assigned certain hours per week. also unless you get authorization from Immigration and naturalization Service (INS), you are allowed to work off-campus for again certain number of hours.

Why INS conducting raids is because due to the increasing number of illegals immigrants.
And too bad all these students were caught working.............without authorization from INS. that means illegally too.

but they dont ask each and everyone abt their status...
they do look for the specific ppl.. and
and even if u got cought they will not deport you.. but make sure that u are in status with good grades in school there is always room for plea and lots of other stuff..

well i am here in dallas for a while and i dont know anyone being deported that goes to north lake college. my systers work in North east mall .. they work everyday and they dont even know if anyone came there or not..
so just cool down make money and go to schoollllllllll
