I got Receipt Notice Dates of Nov 6, 06 for both the I-140 & I-485. But in the USCIS website, the latest dates for these are Dec 26, 06 and Mar 03, 07. I called their number but all I got was an automated message giving me the latest update on my applications saying they are pending. The date has already exceeded by more than 30 days. Is this the usual thing that happens with USCIS?

Peter00, don’t forget that the time frames provided by the USCIS are only estimates. Your case has exceeded only 30 days; however, there are several cases, where the time lines have exceeded by months, if not years. You should consult with your lawyer for more advice. If it was up to me, 30 days excessive period would be normal. Good Luck!!

Peter, I am in the same boat. My 485 receipt date is Feb 7, 2007 but uscis wesite shows it is processing March 2007.
I will open new thread and lets track I-140 and I485 update.

Done with the lawyer checking thingy. He said USCIS is very sloppy with updates, so, let's wait and see what happens.

Peter00,
Actually, you can talk to the customer service rep calling the same 1800 number listed in USCIS website. Enter your receipt number and wait for more options after the recorded message is finished. If there is no update in your case for last 60days and the processing time is >30days outside the processing time, they will put an inquiry request for your case. Try it. I have heard that people have got their case approved in couple days after that inquiry.
good luck,
Arizona

John Doe's right. I just checked and now, the dates are Sep 5, 06 and Sep 26, 06 for the I-140 and I-485 respectively which means I've still got some waiting to do. My lawyer was right; USCIS is definitely one sloppy outfit. Anyway, a bit of excitement to keep us on our toes. Keep ourselves posted on this one buddies.

I don't think the info on the website is correctly updated or something is missing, because I know somebody who sent application for I-485 (EB2) in around Mar-April 2007, and he already got GC card. The website is still showing Sep 26,2006 as of today (Nebrasaka).

I also have a similiar question. When do you exactly have to do medical? My case is going to be filed on EB2 so I think I-140 & I-485 is going to be filed parallel. What type of medical tests is involved? TB, immunizations, HIV...Drug Tests....Can someone who has been through the medical for GC answer please.

Also do you have to goto the doctor your Lawyer specifies OR can you goto:
https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=CIV
and find a doctor close to you and do all medical stuff?

AMila dai, you don' t need to worry about medical USCIS certified doctore knows what to test. but make sure get your immunization records from Nepal. These days its very hard to get appointment for medical as all visa number are current. It may take months to get appointment. Good Luck !!

Medical is required for I-485. So plan accordingly. Go to USCIS website, search for doctor or clinic.
No need to get prior immunization records. If you have them, then your cost may be lowered. I didn't had any records. It cost me $206. Everything was pretty quick. It took me 1 week from making appointments to getting the certificate.
If some clinic has longer wait time then call another clinic. Does not matter where you get the medical done as long as it is in USCIS list.
Just go there, everything will be taken care of.

Make sure your I-140 gets approved. If for some reason it gets rejected, all the underlying petition will be denied as well. If you are not in H1 to backup, then you will be considered out-of-status to bring more trouble. It is also advisable to file Premium Processing for I-140 in most of the cases. Or if you have already filed your I-140, you can upgrade to PP.

About Immunization, if you have a Primary Care Physicial, you can make an appointment and have him/her to do the lab work. This will be covered by your insurance in most cases, (talk to your Insurance provider). PCP can order the tarter, which will get your immunization histroy. MMR, Chicken Pox, are needed for it. Also, STD and HIV are needed. If you can make an appointment to the county health clinic and request HIV and STD, it will be free. Once the blood tarter is done, it will show your past immunization if you have given Chicken Pox and MMR. Also, take tetanus shot. Once you have these all, make an appointment to USCIS surgon. It will save lot of money.

I mean bulk processing. I mean any one who has labour already approved will get their GC approved on that date meaning they don't wait in que any longer. It sounds to good to be true so I was wondering if any of you heard anything of that nature.
