Quran CH 47 sujrah

"spite the necks of disbelievers of allah, whenever you encounter them"

Bible

YOu can rape someone's sister, kill someone's dad, molest some one's son, but if you accept jesus as your savior. u will granted a salvation..

I m not trying to be partial in any case what so ever, but i have this feeling of hinduism and buddhism being much more pragmatic and scientific in a sort of a way...
if any of u have read veda, it clearly states the existence of universe, is totally independent of any supernatural force...Buddhism has the same story, its much more pragmatic and down to earth context..Unlike monotheistic religion that clearly support crusades..hindism and buddhism relays 'the' message of peace..

My words could be interpreted in several way by several opiniated people, but thats the way i feel.. Hinduism and Buddhism are the best!!

You are incorrect about christianity.
Big or small, knowingly or unknowingly everyone commits sin.
Repent is the only way to overcome from your sins. Be honest with god, repent, and he shall forgive.

Everyone has strong opinions when it comes to Religion and the biggest virtue of being a true believer of any religion is that you are accepting of other opinions. I just dont get the concept on ONE god and the extreme muslims and christians can get to. Yeah, everyone committs sin but if you know you will be forgiven for it if you accept the lord Jesus (even if it is just before you die), where is the incentive to live a sin free life? I like that Hindus are hold accountable for their action, good or bad. It is my own fault that I am not well versed in Veda and other hindu scripts despite being a hindu myself. But I do know my basic principals, fear of god, and that if i do something wrong, i will be punished for it. I also know that if i see a Muslim or Christian who says their god is the only god and we are all following the 'wrong' god (which in christianity means 'satan', believe me, i studied it for two years), i am not going to slice their neck or crucify them.
Tolerance and accountability is the best thing i have learnt from Hinduism and I am proud of it.

Religion is a disease. It's probably killed more people than the bubonic plague. And it continues to kill today and it will continue to until it destroys everyone.

Religion is clearly man made and anything that a man makes has a reason. Religion was made in ancient times when people were ignorant in order to make some sense out of life. To provide a meaning. Whoever came up with these religions of course were in top of the food chain - call it a side effect. In different parts of the world different religions arose out of the need to understand life and to find a deeper meaning. When populations exploded, suddenly different religions had their first meetings, and the position of powers that creators/their offsprings of one religion held became challanged by the creators/their offsprings of another religion.

Who is better? Like in the animal world someone has to be stronger. Man is an animal. Someone has to be stronger and bigger. Hence began the fight for supremacy. Which religion is better and more powerful and greater? Religious leaders from each religion were not going to let some other religion undermine their position of power. Hence there is war to justify religion, which originally stands for the creation of man itself.

I could go on but in this day and age, we need to understand that the only religion we need is HUMANITY. No religions, but if you need to follow something then follow the religion of humanity.

Only then there is any hope of a better world.

How many times should we go over this ?
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BEST RELIGION.
EACH OF THEM WILL CLAIM THAT THEY ARE THE BEST.
GOD AS ANY RELIGIOUS TEXT DESCRIBE DOES NOT EXIST.
THERE IS SOMETHING OUT THERE THAT MAKES THE SUN SHINE, PLANTS GROW, WATER FLOW ....BUT WHAT IT IS ....WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PINPOINT THAT FACT. WHICH RELIGIOUS TEXTS DESCRIBE AS FAITH. BUT I CALL IT THE FORCE(which could be good or bad, varying from one individual to another).

SO MAY THE FORCE BE WITH U !!

By the way Buddhism is not a religion but philosophy. This is a question, which is often asked. It really depends upon how one defines religion. If it is thought of as a belief in a supreme being to whom one prays for redemption, security, favors or relief from suffering, then, no, Buddhism is not a religion.
The Buddha himself never claimed divinity -- only clear-sightedness and purity of apprehension of truth through deepest intuition, leading to equanimity and enlightenment. He was a great and rare individual but not a god. If some simple and mistaken few have elevated him to godship and worship him with requests for favors and special dispensations, this does not alter the situation one bit.

No religion is the best religion. Whichever religion u r practising is the best religion for u.

But there is a basic difference between islam/ christianity group of religions and the hinduism/ buddhism group. The former group preach that their religion is the best religion and the right way to reach god is through their religion, hence they believe in converting others to their faith They also believe that every human being is a bornr sinner and should always repent for their sins. However, the later group doesn't believe in converting others and no one is a borne sinner. They follow the doctrine of 'karma', that is everyone is free to make choices in their life, they can make good or bad choices. But the choices one makes determines their future n next lives.

'How the world was created according to hinduism' is a very broad topic. Hinduism doesn't have a single religious book or principle. There are extremes of views about any topic in hinduism. There are many schools of thought. For example, according to 'puranas' there is borne in a caste and their are 33 million gods/ goddesses, whereas as per the 'vedas' there is no caste system and one attains caste by the work he does. Also there is only one god. Similarly, according to 'lokayata' sect of hinduism, their is no heaven/ hell/ after life/ gods or goddesses. So everything is the current life. So all these diverse views are hinduism. One can't say that one of them is the correct hindu thinking and the other is not.

About the creation of world, the most commonly heard view is the one presented in 'puranas'. According to it, the creation started from 'manu' and 'satyarupa', and the story is somewhat similar to 'adam' n 'eve' in bible. But the views expressed in 'vedas' and 'upanishads' about the world's creation is different.

Hope that i have made something clear.

How to be a Better Person
Assimilating the Eternal Values
The purpose of religion is certainly to make us a better human being. It helps us manifest the god or goodness within us for the benefit of oneself and the world.

The basic tenets of Hinduism highlight three qualities to groom the physical, mental and intellectual facets of your personality. The most fundamental of the eternal values can be classified into these three disciplines:

Self control (Brahmacharya) — Regulates the physical personality
Non-injury (Ahimsa) — Regulates the mental personality
Truthfulness (Satyam) — Regulates the intellectual personality

The Bhagavad Gita has clearly defined the ascetic simplicities that every individual should aim at — the austerity of body, speech and mind:

"Worship of the Gods, the twice born, the teachers and the 'wise'; purity, straightforwardness, celibacy, and non-injury; these are called the 'austerity of the body'." (The Gita, Chapter XVII, 14)

"Speech which causes no excitement, and is truthful, pleasant and beneficial, and the practice of the study of the Vedas, these constitute the 'austerity of speech'." (The Gita, Chapter XVII, 15)

"Serenity of mind, good heartedness, silence, self-control, purity of nature — these are called the 'mental austerity'." (The Gita, Chapter XVII, 16)

The above verses show us the ways in which we can inculcate and assimilate these fundamental eternal values. Here're eight things we can do diligently to emerge as better persons:

1. Worship the God of your heart.
2. Maintain external cleanliness — Physical and Environmental.
3. Practice straightforwardness in dealing with others.
4. Live a life of self-control with respect to all your sense enjoyments.
5. Avoid acts of injuring others from your emotional and intellectual realms.
6. Speak only to express agreeable ideas of permanent value. When the truth is disagreeable to others, maintain a discreet silence.
7. Maintain pure and serene motives.
8. Maintain a relationship of understanding, tolerance and love with the world at large.

People who follow this steadily and with no desire of quick results will attain eternal goodness. This is what the Gita says about goodness: "This threefold austerity practiced by steadfast men with utmost faith desiring no fruit, is called austerity of goodness." (The Gita, Chapter XVII, 17) And the good are those who refuse to worry about the future because they know that the "future is the resultant of the total path modified by the present."
The author of this artcle Dr. Sunil Jaiman, MD, is a medical practitioner living in Gurgaon, India, where he runs the Lifecare Pathological Laboratory. He reads the Gita daily and is associated with the Chinmaya Mission Foundation.

Agree with ImI. Hinduism is a way of life. Exactly. I't's not just a religion. There are many ways in which one can live his/ her life within hinduism. These ways are very different n diverse from each other, but still all of these are 'hinduism'. This is the basic difference of 'hinduism' from other religions.

Oh Mr.satanicluju,

You are one perfect stupid person who defends one perticular religion.
Religion is man made. All those crap Veda, Quran, Bible were written by a person.

How do you say Hindu is more pragmatic?
Dropadi was a wife of five men. She was screwed by five people. Most impossible religion.

However all religions are just comic and fake.

Thug satanicluju....

Hussain Khan so what if draupadi had 5 husbands? what's wrong in that ? ur mohammad had 4 wives i think.

diversity is the beauty of hinduism. u can live ur life in many ways n still be a hindu. u don't need to go to temple everyday or even in a year and still remain a hindu. u can believe in many gods or one god or no god, u can sacrifice animals or practise ahimsa, u may pray or choose no to pray, u may stay off all substances including alcohol or u can take gaanja as prasad of god, u can sing devotional songs of the gods u worship or u can sing pop bhajans.

the best thing about hinduism is it is eclectic, there are many schools of thoughts and u can choose any among them, u don't need to pray 5 times a day, and u can express any kind of dissatisfaction about ur religion freely without fearing any kind of fear / fatwahs.

after writing 18 'puranas' and 'mahabharata' Vyasa has just written 2 sentences in conclusion, which are the essence of hinduism - " Astaadasha puraaneshu Vyasasya vachanam dwayam, paropakaara punyaya, papaaya parapeedanam' means i have written so many things in these 18 puranas, but the conclusion of all the religious texts i've written is just that ' doing good to others is punya/ dharma and torturing or giving pain to others is paap/ sin'. This is the basic essence of hinduism.
