Ram Prasad Lamichhane of Thulipokhari VDC-6 claimed that he is the "headmaster" of Pushpasadan Primary School and threatened the present headmaster, Lalu Kumari Subedi, to go elsewhere.

Local Maoist leaders and cadres are apparently backing Lamichhane.

The District Education Office (DEO) had transferred Subedi in the school as the headmaster after Lamichhane joined the Maoist party without informing the concerned authorities.

A year ago, the DEO had rejected Lamichhane's application for reinstating him in the job saying that government decision was required for the purpose.

Weighed down by the Maoist pressure, the school management committee allowed him to sign in the staff attendance register a week ago while Subedi was away in a training.

"He's also threatened to take physical action if I enter the school," Subedi, a permanent teacher of primary level, said adding, "It has violated my right of opting for a profession."

She has filed complaints to the DEO and the District Administration Office, requesting the latter to create environment to enable her to continue her job.
