One of my friend went to Nepal as semester break on Fall 2011. College ask him to pay SEVIS fee again.
Do we need to pay it again? Any friend of sajha went to nepal as semester break on Spring 2011?
One of my friend went to nepal as semester break on 2010 Fall and he didnt pay on that time. Did the rule changed now?
Please share your expericane!

If he is out of US school for more than 150 days then he has to pay SEVIS fee unless if he is there in Nepal for doing course related work like research. For this research he has to take permission from Professor and admission department. If his sevis number changes then he has apply for new visa too. For new visa stuff make sure with US embassy in Nepal. I faced this situation.

yah ...only if you are out of states for more than 5 mnths then you should pay SEVIS...well even i came back in new sevis after semister break..but my case was totally different...during that time i did all this research...his international advisor might not know these things..so tell him to go to uscis page..find the related issue and mail it to his international advisor with the link..this might help
