अस्ती एकजना नटबरलालको बारेमा लेखेपछि मिलेको आश्चर्यजनक पर्तिकर्ीयाले मधेश आन्दोलनको अर्का नटबरलालको विषयमा लेख्न हुटहुटी लगायो । यसअघि उनका बारेमा एउटा साप्ताहिक पत्रिकाले केही साधारण जानकारी त दिएको रहेछ तर उनको पछिल्लो ब्यवहार देखेपछि मलाई उनका बारेमा लेख्न खसखस लागिरह्यो । उनको नाम हो- राजेश अहिराज । पेशाले आफुलाई निकै सिनियर पत्रकार र मधेशी एक्टीभिस्ट भन्ठान्छन । पत्रकारहरुका भेला- बैठक जहा हुन्छ उनी त्याहा पुग्छन र मधेशीका कुरा चर्का स्वरमा कराउछन । उनका कुरा मलाई ठिकै लाग्थ्यो केही अघिसम्म । उनी साच्चीकै मधेशी हितमा लागेका होलान भन्ने ठान्थे । तर यो सब भर्म रहेछ । विचरा मधेशीका नाउमा राजनीतिक गरेर कुस्त कमाउने एउटा नटबरलालको नौटङ्की चालवाजी ।

जनवरी २६ तारिकको विहान । लैनचौरस्थीत भारतीय दुतावासको खुला चौर । कान्तिपुर टेलिभिजनका हरहरी उपाध्यायसितै म रिपोर्टीङका लागि गएको थिए । दुतावासले दिउसो बोलाएको ककटेल डिनरमा जाने नजाने भन्ने सल्लाह गर्दै थियौं हामी । त्यति नै बेला मेरो आखा राजेश अहिराज नामको अख्स माथि पर्यो । मसित खासै दोस्ती नभए पनि अनुहारको चिनजानका कारणले उनी हात मिलाउन आइपुगे । सायद उनी दुतावासका अधिकारीहरुलाई मेन स्ट्रीमका पत्रकारसित आफ्नो राम्रो सम्बन्ध भएको देखाउन चाहन्थे केही समयपछि भरतीय राजदुत शिवशंकर मुखर्जीले उनको नाममा एउटा उपहारको घोषणा गरे । उनले खोलेको ब्यत्तिगत सस्था मिडिया रिसर्च सेन्टरका लागि दुतावासले डेढ लाख बराबरको पुस्तक उपहार दियो । उनी कालो कोट र कालो चश्मामा सजिएर मन्चमा पुगि विजयी भावमा हामीतिर फर्केर हात हल्लाउदैथिए । त्यसपछि बेलुकीको पार्टीमा देखिएको उनको चर्तीकलाले मलाई पनि उनी नेपाली होइनन कि भन्ने भान दिलायो । सधै मधेशीका कुरा गर्नेहरु दसगजा पारीबाटै सन्चालित हुन कि भन्ने त्य पुष्टि गर्छ ।

अब जाउ राजेशको विगत तर्फ । डेढबर्ष अगाडिको कुरा हो । म आपु काम गर्ने राजधानी दैनिकको कार्यालयमा बसिरहेको थिए । लेख छपाउन अनुरोध आएका होचा कदका गहुगोरो अनुहारको युवा नै राजेश रहेछन् । उनको बास्तविक थर झा हो सायद । मिडिया अनुसन्धान केन्द्र खोलेर बसेका अहिराजको लेखचाही राजधानीको पाठक पत्र स्तम्भमा एक कोलममा छापियो । त्यसपछि उनका करिब एकदर्जन रचना पाठक पत्रमा छापिएको । तपाइहरुले धधध।चबवमजबलष्।अयु।लउ मा हेर्न सक्नुहुन्छ । उनका सायद एउटा लेख चही हाम्रो इन्दर्ेनी पेजमा छापिएको छ । नेपाल टेलिभिजनमा समाचार बाचकहरुमा कतिजना मधेशी छन भनेर उनी अनुसन्धान गर्छन अनि एकजना पनि नभएकोमा मधेशीविरोधी सरकार भनेर उफिर्न्छन । यस्ो भए हरेक जातजातीले टेलिभिजनमा आफ्नो जात कति छ भनेर रिपोर्ट निकाल्दै बिरोध गर्ने श्र उनको यही शैली थियो ।

सर्लाहीमा एक स्थानिय पत्रिकाको वित्रापन संकलक थिए उनी । पत्रिकाको वित्रापन उठाएर ल्याएको पैसा हिनामिना गरेपछी उनलाई हटाइयो । त्यसपछि उनी पैसा लगानी गर्छु भनेर पत्रिका निकाल्न त_िम्सए । अहिले कान्तिपुरमा वीरगन्जबाट रिपोर्टीङ गर्ने मेरा मित्र सुजित महत केही बर्ष अगाडि हामी गोरखापत्रमा सगै काम गर्थ्यौं उनी सम्पादक भएको पत्रिकामा उनलाई प्रबन्धक बनाइयो । उनले साथीहरुलाई चिल्लै बनाएर जिविसबाट एकैचोटी ६० हजार जिप्ट्याएछन । त्यसपछि सो पत्रिका पनि बन्द भयो ।

सर्लाहीबाट भागे।र काठमाडौ आएपछि उनमा पत्कार बन्ने भुत सवार भयो । बि ए पास गरेपछि उनी एन पि आइ मा पत्रकारिता डिप्लोमा भर्ना भए । उनलाई मैले एनपिआइमा नै चिनेको । त्यसपछी मधेशवाणी नामको चारपाने पाक्षिक पत्रिका निकालेका उनी ठुला पत्कार बने । पत्रकार महासंघ काठमाडौ शाखाबाट उनी केन्द्रीय पार्सद पनि भए । महासघको महाधिबेशनमा उनले बोलेको मधेशीलाई केन्द्रीय समितिमा ल्याउनु पर्े माग आफ्नै लागि पद खोजेको पो रहेछ ।

राजाको शाही कु पछि उनाई पद चाहियो । उनी राजावादी पत्रकार संघ अर्थात रास्टीय पत्रकार महासघमा लागे । यता बन्न नसकेको केन्द्रीय सदस्य बने । त्यसपछि उनलाई रवारको पार्टीमा नियमित निम्तो आउन थाल्यो । राजाले पनि भेट गरे । पशुपतिभक्त महर्जन सित भेट हुन थाल्यो । यसअघि नै उनले मधेशवाणी पत्रिका निका्नु अघि भारतीय दुतावासमा सम्पर्क गरेका थिए । दुतावासका प्रबक्ता गोपाल वागले र कन्सुर खिया भट्टाचार्य सित राम्रो छदै थियो दरवारमा पनि राम्रो भयो । त्यसपछि पक्का राजावादी बने उनी ।

राजावादी बनेपछि उनलाई दरवारले तराइमा माओवाी विरोधीसित दरवारको सम्पर्क गराउने जिम्मा दिइयो । त्यसपछि उनी सिरहा गए । माओवादी छाडेका जयकृष्ण गोइतसित भेटे । ज्वाला िसंहको अन्तरवार्ता लिए । आफ्नो पत्रिकामा छापे । पछिल्लो अंकमा पनि उनले पहिलो पेजमा ज्वाला िसंहको बायो डाटा छापेका छन् । उनले ज्वाला िसंह र गोइतलाइ दरवारको सम्पर्कमा पुर्याए । भारतीय दुतावासको त उनी नियमित एजेन्ट नै हुन ।

साना कदका उनी देख्दा यस्ता नटवरलाल होलान जस्तो लाग्दैन र उनको धन्दा धेरै छ । नैकापमा उनले क्रसर कारखाना चाएका छन । पछिल्लो समय उनी निकै ब्यस्त छन । जनतान्तिक मोर्चा र दरवार अनि भारतीय दुतावासमा उनको धन्दा चलिरहन्छ । गोइतसित उनी एकमहिना तराइ गए । त्यहीबाट उनी दिल्ली र पटना गए । काठमाडौमा अहिले उनी ठुला नटबरलालका रुपमा चिनिन्छन । उनीसगै एनपिआइमा पढ्ने हामीजस्ता उनलाई भेट्दा पनि बोल्न डर लाग्ने अबस्था छ । अब उनी बार्ता टोलीमा पर्छन रे । सायद वार्ता पछि बन्ने सहमति अनुसार मधेशीलाई थपिने बिधायिका सिटमा यीनको पनि नाम हुन्छ । तराइलाई स्वतन्त्र राष्ट बनाउने धारणा राख्ने उनी नेपालको सांसद भए भने हाम्रो गति के होला तपाइले सोच्नुभएको छ

There is nothing controversial in demanding equal representation based on population.
Please think in unbaised manner.

However I do think that reservations for jobs etc can be controversial issue. It has always been everywhere. But right now the gorvernment is showing reluctance to meet the justified demands and instead trying to supress the movement.

Anywaz while china and india are growing at above 7% we are stuck to minimal growth with higher rise in population. The politics has to be STABLE for us to join the higher growth trajectory. Justified demands of all sections of society should be met and a new nepal should be formed.

Think responsibly, continued civil war like situation can turn even most prosperous countries to destitutes. The issues must be resolved through common effort. The blame squarely lies on Girija government to bring in a situation where this 'common' effort is seen lacking for the issues relating to non-previleged groups.

I find paramendra bhagat a bit radical and a bit too in-your-face with the aggressive nature with which he pushes forth his ideas. But apparently it works, that's why he does it. How else can you explain all these threads and articles in blogs devoted to just him. This is the world we live in today - Ann Coulter would not be as famous if her conservative agenda wasn't as radical and to the far right as it is. Provoking people and getting them all riled up is the best way to get people talking about issues and he seems to do it very well. Nobody would pay attention to him if he held a moderate view on the madhesi issue.

That being said, I haven't read anything as stupid as the title of this thread in a long time. If you think a person should be deported from the US for expressing his views, you probably don't deserve to be there.

You're giving him more credit than he deserves.. I wonder how many madhesis in nepal read his english blog and join the movement.

I respect Madhesis' rights and they should be given their rights within Nepal. But division of Nepal should not be a part of their demand. Overall right now everybody in Nepal is suffering, not only Madhesis. All communities have their grievances. Let us not ask what Nepal has given to you, but what you have given to Nepal, at this moment:-) (I feel all the vibes JKF was radiating then)
Terai is an integral part of Nepal and all those people who think they are Nepalis can stay in Terai. All those who think they are not, can leave Nepal. The government is ready to support the Madhesis and give them what they want, but don't even think of a separate nation in Terai. Oh all those Madhesis who want to divide Nepal, you are asking for something your forefathers could not preserve for you; don't ask for blood of pahadis. You know they give it to you to preserve Nepal.

All those who are saying Madhesis make 50 % of Nepali population, you guys are wrong. Everywhere in Terai, you see more pahadis than Madhesis.

Let us get united not divided. Let us be constructive not destructive.
