 I think it does not matter what he wears but he should not speak in any other language other than Nepali since Nepali is the only language the entire nation understands. And I dont think Mr. President is going to speak in any other language, he talked in English to an Indian TV . I think he is gonna rock as prez.

As far as the dress is concerned, he should represent his community because dress is not a big deal. If GPK can wear Daura Sural why can Dr. Yadav not wear his Dhoti Kurta.

I don't have a problem of Madeshi President and a Madeshi VP as long as they are qualified, speak Nepali and wear Nepali Dress. Can anyone imagine any ethnic leader like Gurung, Rai, Limbu, Tamang, Newar, Magar etc replied in their ethnic language when the journalist asked question in Nepali. Those Nepalese Journalist are stupid. What the heck they are trying to acheive speaking in Hindi? Are they living in India or what? If they don't like to speak Nepali, they should go India too.

Amricane: A-hole like ya doesn't deserve to be here in U.S. Look at U.S, the black man is running up for president which is totally cool and you can't accept madhesis as a president of Nepal. As a matter of fact, this is really a great choice and decision made by Nepal because now the slogan for "One madhesis, one state" wouldn't be any problem as they have leader from thier region. Running through his profile, I found him to be one of the deserving candidates. His doctorate degree and his protests against madhes state and by the way he doesn't have to involve in corruption because he already has money from his profession. I am Bahun by birth, but have rejected the caste system. Everyone is equal, and there is no such thing as one jaat being more superior than another. Having a president, not to mention the first president, of a newly formed republic come from a group of people that have been traditionally been oppressed is something to be proud of. When I heard Mr. Yadav became president, I bought candy and distributed it throughout the office. It is something to be proud of. The United States eliminated slavery in 1865, and in the 1960s had great movements for equal rights. After so many years of struggle, someone colored has finally raised up to run for president of the United States. It took the United States more than 200 years to be this progressive. Nepal took 52 days. That's something baffling to a lot of people.

The man was born in Nepal. He fought for Nepali democracy in 2040 B.S. His ethnicity does not matter. He has equal provisions to be president of Nepal.

We need to forget about racial and ethnic differences and work together as Nepalis. We are first and foremost Nepali, and that's what we must embrace.

I am ok with any person who was born in Nepal, loves Nepal, and has ability to lead Nepal for the post.  I believe Dr. Yadav is pretty good choice for the post if we look at the resume of our leaders.  we all should come out of this so called racial issues and support one who really deserves and good for the nation.  I started liking him since i came to know that he does nt support one madhesh one pradesh thing, though he is from madhesi community.  congratulations to Dr. Yadav. 

I have noticed so many Nepali people supporting Obama here in sajha though he is not white, so why are we making big fuss when someone from madhesi community became our president?  I am sure many of us even do not have rights to vote here to elect president talk a lot about Obama and when it comes down to our own country, we do not want someone from minority as a present, what an irony.

Although Dr. Yadav may be ok for the post of president, since he had became Health minister for two time and there is no evidence of him taking any bribes and also he is not the supporter of "Ek Madhes Ek Pradesh" but what about our Vice President Paramanda Jha who had been degraded from its position on Supreme Court and sent to Punarabedan Court due to those Charesh kanda. Was there no good person to be VP?

And Now Bijaya Kumar Gachadar will be going to be Prime Minister (Another Madhesi). This is really Bull shit that every top position is from Madhesi.

Dr. Yadav is as much Nepali as you and I are. He was born and raised in Nepal. He is a very respected personality of Nepal as opposed to you and me, even though you call yourself a Pahadi ( I prefer to be called a Nepali).

How would you feel if you were discriminated because of your race here in USA, even if you were not the Citizen of the US? On the contrary, in Nepal, how would a Nepalese citizen feel if (s)he is labeled as a madhise, for that matter a minority and deprived of his/her rights?
