Is it true that some pay up to 90 lakhs to agents to make this difficult journey?
What happens when they arrive at the border? Do they immediately get asylum, protected status, work permit etc? How does that process work?
What kind of money do they make on average after they arrive? Do most work legally?
Do they immediately start paying taxes, have health insurance etc etc and are they able to save enough money to.pay off the debt? I am asking in general - not exceptions.
All these questions come to my mind when I read news of nepalis crossing in from the south border, their very hard journey and the risks they have to take during the long trek and also the large amount of money they pay. Very different from immigration thru H1B , marriage etc
